ABOUT PELVIC FLOOR YOGA

Womens pelvic floor health is often overlooked in this country.  We have been told to just accept it because, "it's part of being a woman" and that needs to change!  Pelvic Floor Yoga Therapy was created by Leslie Howard, a yoga instructor who had developed pelvic floor issues and wanted to find a way to heal herself.  It is a combination of core, glute, upper leg exercises and yoga poses that are specifically designed to help improve your pelvic floor health.

In private one on one sessions, you will learn...

How to assess your own pelvic floor for tight or loose areas by learning how to contract 6 different parts of your pelvic floor        (Note: there is no internal work done in these sessions)

Learn exercises to find if your glutes and deep core muscles are weak, and do more exercises on the weak side to balance the body

Learn exercises to find if your upper leg muscles are too tight, and do more exercises the tight sides to balance the body

Learn yoga poses to address the specific areas of your pelvic floor that are tight or weak.

Pelvic Floor Yoga is beneficial for...

  • Urinary incontinence
  • Urinary urgency (stress incontinence)
  • Pelvic/vaginal pain
  • Difficulty with bowel movements
  • Low back and hip pain
  • Mild pelvic organ prolapse
  • Regaining muscle strength after having a baby

What clients are saying about Pelvic Floor Yoga...

  • I had a decrease in urinary incontinence after the first session
  • I had better bowel movements after Pelvic Floor Yoga sessions
  • I couldn't believe the difference I saw in my body, after just one session.  I could do Pilates exercises that I have never been able to do before, in 20 years of practicing Pilates.
  • These classes have helped me more than acupuncture or massage!
